Summary
“Connectivity Analysis of Přerov City Centres in Relations to Environment”
The main aim of this thesis is identification and quantification of traffic connections between core areas of Přerov city on a digital model of Přerov city. An evaluation of the impacts of traffic activities on chosen elements of the environment is also included. For processing of the aims network and spatial analysis in GIS are used. Due to the lack of relevant data of traffic flows there was a need to organize measuring of flows of traffic on four main crossroads in Přerov. In terms of measured data a traffic model was created. Possibilities of alternative traces towards today´s traffic traces have been tested through network analysis. Impacts of the chosen elements on the environment for each alternative traces were quantified. Integral part of this thesis is an evaluation of existing useability in GIS technologies.
Results of the analysis are presented in the maps. Some maps, showing a model of the intensity of the traffic within the city, indicate the highest intensity of the traffic in the western part of the city thanks running of all transit between Olomouc and Hulín this way. The building of a new highway „D1“ will reduce to pass through the urban area of Přerov by half but a part of the highway will be on the basis of the results of spatial analysis be traced through protected areas of water resources.
Also a model of pedestrian traces has been made. Traces of pedestrians between pairs of centres have been compared to traces of bus lines. The worst accessible part of Přerov City is Jižní Čtvrť (in the south) which has no direct bus line to Předmostí in the north although these parts of city are the most distance ones. The distance between them is about 4 kilometers.
The study area is Přerov city in the central Moravia. Přerov is a middle-sized city situated on the both banks of river Bečva. Since the ancient era it has been a crossroad of merchant lanes. Now it is one of the most important railroad and motorway junction in the Czech Republic, although its infrastructure within the urban area is not comparable to its significance.
A website about this thesis has been created and it is placed on the website of Department of Geoinformatics UP. All thesis and all used input and output data are stored on a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM is an appendix of the thesis.
