Annotation

This thesis deals with carbon stocks estimation of aboveground and belowground biomass. Estimation is performed with remote sensing methods. For the estimation in this thesis are used satellite multispectral data and data derived from stereo – photogrammetry measurement too. Principle of estimation of carbon stocks is finding the most suitable algorithm. First it’s necessary to execute for the regional scale, then the results of tested methods are compared. This procedure leads to the determination of the most precision method for the national scale, in this case – the Czech Republic. The results can be used for comparison of last estimates or future estimates. The resulting values can be a suitable evidence as the fact, that nowadays forests could sequestrate bigger amount of carbon than in past. It is caused due to bigger amount of carbon dioxide in atmosphere.
