The name of this thesis is "An Evaluation of Data Acquisition Techniques for construction of the stream longitudinal profile". The thesis goals are following: on the first - evaluation of the accuracy of six techniques,on the second documentation and description of the streams, on the third comparison statistics between two streams, next design of algorithms for error elimination and the last recommendation of the techniques commensurate with required accuracy, scale, time demands tec.
The study area or the study streams are the Javoříčka near the village of Luká and noname stream locaced in the west of Zábřežská vrchovina near the village of Vražné.
The first part of my diploma thesis was collection of the data. It was the most difficult part. Apart from completed data ZABAGED and DMU I had to realised meny terrain measuring with total station, low-price GPS, precision DGPS and with clinometer.
On the first the points of intersection (between stream and contour line) was executed from ZABAGED and DMU data.
Before measuring with total station it was necessary design of the form template and the working technique. With total station I measured only longitudinal profile of the stream bottom, but the height of the both riverbanks was find out by measuring with tape line. The measuring was very dificult, because the terrain along the stream is rugged and with close-grained vegetation. After the measuring I calculated coordinates by polar method in GROMA software and I added the values of the riverbanks height for each point.
GPS measuring was realized by four low-price GPS receivers: Evolve with MTK chipset, Navilock with Sirf chipset, ANTARIS with LEA-4T (UBX) chipset and GARMIN with Sirf chipset. It was executed 4 times - 2times on the Javoříčka and 2times on the second stream.
The DGPS I had to excluded, because I found out, that the receiver didn´t work under the vegetation cover. I tested three metods (kinematic, stop-and-go a static) on 4 routes - 2 out of wood and 2 inside. But whan I processing the data in the Project manager the results from woods environment was always very bad.
Last part of the terrain working is The Measuring with Clinometer and Laser rangefinder - LaserAce Survey.
Before visualization all the data I had to adapt the longitudinal profiles form ZABAGED, DMU, GPS measurments to longitudinal profile obtained from TS measurment. The reasults are illustration in Fig. 2 and Tab. 2.
