Summary

This bachelor thesis called Development of historical landscape structure in Trkmanka catchment consist of analyzing historical land use/land cover based on historical maps of 1st (1764 - 1768), 2nd (1836 - 1840) and 3rd (1876 - 1879) military mapping, detecting the landscape changes in these periods and in the present (2007) and finally ecological evaluation of Trkmanka catchment in historical periods and in the present by landscape indexes.

At first, the historical maps were georeferenced and digitized. The problem occurred with the 1st military mapping. Because of missing mathematic basics there were large deviations in geometry of objects even after the georeferencing and that is why it was not include in some analyses.

Then there was created LU/LC for each period, the actual state of LU/LC was available from the colleague. These layers were closely evaluated and then they became input layers for analysis in GIS. There was created a layer of changes from the 2nd and 3rd military mapping and from the actual state. 1st military mapping was missed because of inexact geometry of objects. From this layer there were evaluated spatial changes, persistence of areas and change index.

Then the each LU/LC was evaluated by landscape indexes such as a coefficient of ecological stability and indexes of landscape metrics.

Outputs of this study consist of a poster, which introduce the main purposes of this bachelor thesis, maps of LU/LC of three historical periods and the present state, a set of maps of landscape development and 3D visualisations of a part of Trkmanka catchment. The another output is web page about this study and data on the CD.
