Summary
This Bachelor thesis provides unified information on simulation games in urban environment. One of the benefits of this work is providing information on possible uses of games and gives examples where simulation games were already used in solving real life urban problems. As the focus of this work was chosen simulation game Cities Skylines due to its impactful gaming community and overall popularity. Four main types of potential use were discovered: simulation, visualisation, teaching tool and participation tool. Usage as simulation tool was found unadvisable due to closed code of the game. Current methods of importing geographical data were explored and new way of preprocessing data for game usage was developed. Using these newly developed method a model of Olomouc city was introduced.
