The main objective of this thesis was to find out and assess to which level the geoinformative technologies (GIT) are currently used in departments involved in territorial planning of individual towns with extended sphere of their competence within the Moravia-Silesian region. It was their activities analysis and suggestion for possible improvements and extended incorporation of GIT into their daily work that was focused on as well. Questionnaires, phone or direct research in the ground constitute the data basis. The achieved results are coming out of activities analysis of the individual departments engaged in territorial planning both on the level of towns with extended sphere of competence and the whole region. Assessment of GIT current status and proposal for mutual cooperation of towns with extended sphere of competence with the region itself was taken into account as well. The thesis can be therefore considered to be a basis for a study material for understanding of needs of the individual towns with extended competence.
