Anotation

This thesis deals with testing the possibilities and limits of 3D printing on the Mcor IRIS HD printer and the subsequent confirmation or refutation of expectations. Part of this work describes the creation and printing of pre-defined models that were selected for testing. The text also describes the procedure for models processing and printing and how this procedure affects the models themselves.

Creation and editing of the models were performed in the graphics programs SketchUp Make 2016 and DesignSpark Mechanical 2.0. Subsequent cutup into individual layers for printing was performed in the program called SliceIT, supplied by the printer manufacturer. Postprocessing is a very important part of the creation of the model, but due to different approach of different users to the task this procedure cannot be objectively evaluated and therefore only recommendations are reviewed regarding this stage of printing. Evaluation of printed models was done by visual checking and conclusions were assessed and carried out in cooperation with the mentor. The findings were being further tested and verified, especially when printing an exemplary model that puts all the observed facts into practice.

The outcome of this thesis is the incorporation of all the knowledge acquired from the practical research to a concise manual. It should help the users of the Mcor IRIS HD printer, or other printers with similar qualities, to serve as a reference material for 3D printer operations.
