SUMMARY

The aim of this thesis was to test the modules for simulation of the landscape changes in the Idrisi Andes program, especially the vertical module The Land Change Modeller for Ecological Sustainability. To define and obtain the Czech input data based on the exercises from the tutorial and enclosed model data. To set the parameters in the individual sub modules of the LCM with the usage of the Idrisi Help and Idrisi Manual. To put the individual sub modules into operation with the usage of the data set in this way. To describe the procedure of the data preparation and parameters setting. To evaluate the applicability of the individual sub modules based on the Czech data. To depict and test the module Geomod, operations Markov and CA_Markov as well. To create appropriate Czech input data and set up outputs. To evaluate these operations in connection with the data used and results achieved.

Almost all the modules from the LCM and modules Markov, CA_Markov and Geomod were successfully tested on the data from the Trkmanka river basin.

15 map supplements and one video are attached to this thesis. The video is the output from the modules Transmission and Change Prediction. I described properly the usage and the method of work with all these modules.

This thesis should be used as a manual for the work with the LCM. The main purpose of the map outputs is therefore not to show the results of the changes in the Trkmanka basin, but to show the outputs, which can be obtained from the module LCM.

The LCM has become a high-quality tool for creation of the analyses mentioned above after his updating to the version 15.01. But its usage requires not only work and knowledge of the operation of the program and data preparation, but also the professional knowledge about landscape simulation. The module Impacts should be used with the help of an expert for the given animal species, to ensure the exact setting of the parameters. The LCM will certainly find its application in many institutions on the field of the environment conservation and animal protection.
