The aim of this bachelor thesis was to set up enumeration map series depicting the city of Olomouc in the maps of large and medium scale until 1989. For these works was needed to get quality digital recording, to georeferenced them, to describe and create digital and analogue presentation.

Data were provided from four sources: Vědecká knihovna v Olomouci, Státní okresní archiv v Olomouci, Moravská zemská knihovna v Brně and Ústřední archiv zeměměřictví a katastru. Total number of map series was 209. After subsequent records and edit bitmaps was created by the digital presentation. The presentation is designed for professional and popularization purposes.

To view the map was chosen OpenLayers, OpenLayers is open JavaScript library that provides support for Zoomify. In short that means a script is created, which allows you to view large bitmaps by using the tiles. The original bitmap is cut into tiles, for example using the Zoomify Converter. For created tiles is then created html document in which is inserted a script that these tiles subsequently folded. The user doesn't have to load the entire original bitmap, but just the chosen part of the bitmap.

The method of how to expose no georeferenced maps was described above. Now I will describe how these maps were georeferenced. For georeferencing of maps was used application ArcMap from ESRI. Georeferencing in this application is simple, only marking of identical points on old and current map is needed. The output from ArcMap were the coordinates, which were loaded together with bitmap into MapTiler, where were for georeferenced maps created several outputs. For the work was selected output on base Google Maps.

Subsequently, was for all maps created a web page that can be viewed in attachment. Short version is available at gislib.upol.cz, in which are only the maps that can be published on the internet.
