SUMMARY

The aim of the thesis is to analyse, describe and evaluate spatial and geographic aspects of Google Cloud Platform. Focus is on integration with supported tools by the Google Cloud Platform (e.g. Google Data Studio), data import, connection and integration. The main emphasis is on visualisation purposes - both general and cartographical methods, parameters, datasets, implementations. The cartographic outputs and spatial visualization were evaluated by several aspects. Finally, a workflow for spatial data connection and visualisation via Google Cloud Platform was designed. Theoretical knowledge was supported by pilot study. Based on a suitable dataset and defined workflow, case studies demonstrating the benefits and limits for various topics were developed exploring an alternative visual communication approach. A recommendation for further study is on comparing the spatial data visualization dimensions across multiple cloud GIS platforms.
