The 2025 Olomouc Region Hackathon Winners Announced!

The end of unexpected potholes? We might be one step closer! The winner of this year’s hackathon is Matyáš Černohous, a graduate of our Faculty of Science.

Thanks to “live” sensor data from Olomouc, his project can predict road damage risks before they actually happen. The jury especially praised the excellent use of sensor data for practical maintenance planning.

Other teams shone as well: 2nd place: Team CMM (Road Amortization project), straight from our Department of Geoinformatics! 3rd place: Team YAAC (Project TVARGL – AI weather forecasting)

For the first time, this event was held as part of the European #DigiEduHack initiative and the #EnCLOD project. We are thrilled with how well the participants tackled the themes of transport and climate change.
