The main objective of this diploma thesis was to create an overview of the program extension possibilities for diagram map creation in ArcGIS. The theoretical part, which includes a listing of all available types and distributions of diagram maps, was created in this work. Furthermore, the possibilities for the diagram maps creation in ArcGIS Desktop were identified also with the extension possibilities of the ArcGIS. Then the “Diagram map creator” extension for automated production of selected diagram map types was created. This extension was created to generate the types of diagram maps that the program ArcGIS could not automatically create before.
