The bachelor work sets oneself to find
out and appraise distribution of inhabitants of Olomouc and endangerment of the
population from natural hazards. Various methods of data acquisition have been
used. These are: collection of information, methods of Remote sensing, methods
of GIS and production of outputs.
Some analyses were done: Population
density of Olomouc, Population density of each outlying community and The
Danger to the population from flooding.
"Population density of the town
Olomouc" was done during the day and the night hours. Then the difference
between these two analyses was shown. From the results we can see, that most of
the inhabitants are situated in the centre of the town in the daytime.
Population density grows in the suburbs of the town during the nighttime hours.
Analysis of the "Population
density of each" was computed with the number of inhabitants living in
each outlying community. Analysis was also made for all inhabitants and for
inhabitants divided into age categories (0 - 14 years, 15 - 59 years and 60 or
more years).
The "Danger to the population from
flooding" analysis examined how many people can be affected by flood
types: Q5, Q20 and Q100. There is a comparison
with the flood that affected Olomouc in 1997.
